I don’t post book hauls very often but this one is quite special…
I spent the first week of August in New York City. I shopped at Barnes and Noble (and found Pierre the French Bulldog Recycles in lots of their stores!), Books of Wonder, and The Strand. I also visited my publisher, and they gave me some books too (including a finished copy of The Wanderers!).
I came back with 10 books, and that was me being careful! Here’s what I picked up:
From Strand Bookstore I bought Cat Winters’ THE UNINVITED. I got this on my last day in the US, and the UK release is a little later so I was happy to find it! I also bought NIL by Lynne Matson, LOVE FORTUNES AND OTHER DISASTERS by Kimberly Karalius, and an adorable tote bag!
From Barnes and Noble I picked up CRUEL BEAUTY by Rosamund Hodge, after visiting my little guy in the picture book section.
From Books of Wonder, I bought a signed copy of Tiffany Schmidt’s HOLD ME LIKE A BREATH, along with a cute book bag.
From my visit to the Skyhorse offices, I came away with an ARC of Sarah J Schmitt’s IT’S A WONDERFUL DEATH (out Oct 6, 2015), LOVE, LUCAS by Chantele Sedgwick, THE LOST MARBLE NOTEBOOK OF FORGOTTEN GIRL AND RANDOM BOY by Marie Jaskulka, and THE TEMPLE OF DOUBT by Anne Boles Levy.
AND, I got to take a finished copy of THE WANDERERS home with me! Thank you to Nicole for catching me just before I left the city!!
It’s so beautiful! The paper used for the jacket has a matte finish and a really nice feel to it. The texture matches the distressed look the cover has. Julie described it as almost feeling like the outside of the circus tent, which I liked! Under the jacket is dark blue with red foil lettering on the spine.
And inside is just as lovely with the bunting ornaments on the chapter openers and the circus font used for chapter titles. THE WANDERERS releases on September 1, 2015 from Sky Pony Press.
